We all know there are numerous forms of cardio, but how do you know which one is best for you? There are so many different factors to consider when it comes to choosing the best option. So, in this week’s blog, I’m sharing what things to consider, and how to choose the best option for you.
1). Low Impact vs. High Impact
If you have something like arthritis, or limited mobility, you’ll want to pick something low impact that focuses more on mobility. The elliptical, bicycle, or row machine are all great options for this.
2). Injuries & Rehab
When it comes to rehabbing an injury, it’s important to think about how to simply make that area more mobile. Walking on a treadmill an be a great option for a lower body injury, as can the elliptical. If you’re still injured, the row machine will be your best bet. When it comes to an upper body injury, most cardio machines at a low intensity will be doable.
3). High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
This can be done on several different machines, but the treadmill or stair master will definitely give you the most bang for your buck. They work several muscle groups, and definitely give you a more intense cardio session!
Which of these sounds the most like you? What form of cardio are you going to try? Let me know in the comments, or over on Instagram @aleandraraye05
